When I started setting up IGV company in 1966, I did not know how far I would go.
I did not have and could not have any precise idea about the results that I would achieve. What turnover, how many employees, foreign branches or agents? How many products, accessories or variants? What I did know, and this was very clear in my mind at that time, as it is today, was the wish to invent - yes indeed: to invent - an environment where everybody could work with serenity and offer the best of his/her abilities. Above all, my wish was to make good use, in the most concrete and creative way, of what I had learned until then.
I wanted to "do" engineering: in other words to convert thinking into designs and the latter into products of immediate grasp and usefulness. Products well conceived, well designed and carefully manufactured. And constantly improved and enhanced. This is my idea of engineering, but also my idea of a company and obviously of a lift. Tailored to persons, in the most authentic meaning of the expression. For this reason when I see any IGV product installed in a restaurant, in a house or in a shopping centre, I cannot help thinking that ideas have great strength indeed. And sometimes even great beauty.
